You were just a Navy doc on a floating town
CV41, with planes flying down
The ship’s commander, with his gruff ol’ toss
Said, “What do you have for me, TOOTHBOSS?”
That name stuck like a crown done right
And followed you into civilian life
You built a home for smiles to shine
With old-school values and a modern line
No venture suits, no corporate chains
Just care that flows through every vein
From fillings to bridges, with hands so sure
You make your patients feel secure
[chorus]
You’re the Toothboss of my heart, my love
With gentle strength and stars above
From Navy wings to dental chairs
You lead with purpose, you truly care
A team that stays, a legacy known
With hearts you’ve healed and seeds you’ve sown
You’re not just the boss of crowns and floss
You’re my partner, my love, you’re my Toothboss
Donna, Michaella, Courtney too
Alicia’s welcome shining through
Beverly keeps the ship in place
Dr. J by your side, steady in grace
Not chasing gold, just doing right
Giving choices, no pressure, no bite
Each plan’s path, no one-size fate
Just kindness, time, and something great
Some days you’re stitching smiles so wide
Some nights you’re dreaming by my side
You’ve built a place where people trust
And that, my love, is more than just
[chorus]
You’re the Toothboss of my heart, my love
With gentle strength and stars above
From Navy wings to dental chairs
You lead with purpose, you truly care
A team that stays, a legacy known
With hearts you’ve healed and seeds you’ve sown
You’re not just the boss of crowns and floss
You’re my partner, my love, you’re my Toothboss
So here’s to the years, and the patients you’ve shown
That doing it right means going alone
You’ll always be, till the very last gloss
The one and only, true-blue TOOTHBOSS!
The Toothboss Anthem was born out of both admiration for Dr. Rick Wolfert, known affectionately to his patients, friends, and Navy shipmates as The Toothboss. The nickname first came to life when Dr. Wolfert served as a Navy dentist, and the name stuck, following him from the seas into civilian practice.
The song was written as a heartfelt tribute that captures not just his career, but the values he has carried with him throughout his journey: integrity, compassion, and a true commitment to caring for people. Blending his Navy roots with his decades of building a trusted, patient-centered dental practice, the lyrics celebrate both his professional legacy and his personal life, highlighting the family, friends, and team who have stood beside him.
